What is Construction Hoarding?
Construction hoarding is any type of temporary barrier for a construction site.
For example, when you’re walking downtown and a crew is doing construction on a high rise building and they have scaffolding setup you will notice that plywood or Poly Tarps or something is used as a barrier to ensure that if something falls off the scaffold, or any construction debris occurs, that it won’t fall into the regular walking paths on any pedestrians.
Another use for hoarding tarps or scaffolding tarps that is very common is in the winter months, construction crews will setup their scaffolding in the usual manner and then wrap that scaffold in tarps so that their crew is in a protected work environment.
Wrapping the scaffold in poly tarps for construction, and then running a propane heater inside will make the outside work much more comfortable, and in some cases doing this is necessary for the finish to cure.
When doing stucco for example, the stucco will not cure in the freezing temps, so hoarding tarps are used to make an enclosure to keep a steady temperature that remains above freezing.
For repairing poly tarps we recommend Tarp Repair Tape 36” x 6” or Heavy Duty Tarp Repair Tape (12” x 60′ Roll).
